Setting the record straight...

I really feel the need to post about a certain subject so even though I'm running a little late... I want to do this real quick.

There was a message posted to the Fairer Forum last night by a male fan asking if he was allowed to post there...

Video game fans in general are largely a male dominated demographic, which is the reason for the need for sites like The Fairer Sects and Ubi's Fragdolls. Female gamers seem to be so few and far between that we have to start our own clubs just to find eachother. I made this club so female Splinter Cell fans would have a place to go where they know there will be others like them. But, it was never my intention to imply that male fans are not welcome. Even though this is a female run and operated site, men have been a big part of what has helped it become popular (Kesshin, Raymond Benson, JT Petty).

I want every Splinter Cell fan to feel comfortable coming here and know they are welcome. Right now I am working on using something like Alta Vistas Babel Fish to translate it into different language. For those of you who would like to join the Fairer Forum, here is the url http://www.thefairersects.com/forums.

Sam Fisher -- Heart Throb??

Besides the ruthless dictators, so called "freedom fighters" and backstabbing crazy ex PMC Presidents, Sam seems to have another problem latley.

Women trouble.

With the release if Splinter Cell: Operation Barracuda coming up in November, I decided to re-read my copy of Raymond Bensons original Splinter Cell (for the 36th time). One of my favorite scenes from the whole book is the very uncomfortable scene between Sam and his Krav Maga instructor, Katia Loenstern. It's not a long scene, about 8 pages, but it is one of the funniest things that I have ever read. Sam is a man who is trained to kill someone twice his size with a minimal amount of force, yet he is terrified of this woman. She is obvious about the fact that she is flirting with him and even invites him to eat. You can tell he is not good with the whole "man/woman" thing. The "act" he thinks he is putting on isn't too far from what is really going on. It's quite funny.

The next woman that Sam has had to deal with hitting on him, ironically enough, is me. Check out this exchange between him and I from The Sam Fisher Blog.

1.) When was the last time you had a date? (It was probably the blind date Grim set you up on lol) Also, what do you look for in women?

1. The last time I had a date? Is that a proposition? As far as what I look for in a woman, I am reminded of a quote from David Lee Roth, who said, "The perfect woman has an IQ of 150, wants to make love until four in the morning, and then turns into a pizza." That one kills me every time.

4. Do you get a lot of email from female fans? As a female fan, I just have to ask. It seems all the Splinter Cell fans I meet are male. I was chatting in a chatroom and Splinter Cell came up. After talking to the other fans for a few minutes, one of them told me I seemed like a pretty cool guy. Oh it's ok, I was only a tad bit insulted.

4. I get some, but not a lot of e-mail from female fans (and after my answer to question 1, I'll probably get fewer than ever). And by the way, you do seem like a pretty cool guy.

Was he flirting with me there? Anyway, in our conversation, Sam seems to have outgrown his shyness he had when dealing with Katia. Or maybe she's just prettier than me? Maybe it is our age difference, since he is 47 and I am 25. Who knows?

Grimsdottir also seems to have developed an interest in Sam. Not wanting him for herself, but she seems to be rather concerned for his love life, sending "the reluctantly aging badass" on a blind date with a girl Sam described as a "boat".

Let me tell you, there is something about that handsome face, gruff voice and tortured soul that can be enough to drive a girl nuts. Let's see if Sams woman trouble will continue in Splinter Cell: The Movie, Splinter Cell Operation Barracuda, or Splinter Cell: Anarchy Galore.
