A few things to touch on.

Hello everyone.

This has been an active few weeks, atleast at TFS, so I wanted to keep you up to date.

First of all, I made the announcement last night that Raymond Benson will no longer be penning the Splinter Cell novels. I am very dissapointed about that. I enjoyed his books and whomever the next David Michaels is will have to prove themselves to me. Maybe they will be willing to do an interview with us? I don't know if it was Benson's decision or someone at Rubicon, but whoever it was, I implore them to change thier mind. But, for now, TFS wishes Benson all the best with any future endeavors.

Secondly, I get alot of emails asking about the state of development of the Splinter Cell movie. At this point, I don't know anything about that. Everyone I have contacted to ask won't tell me anything so I have nothing to report, officially.

There are a few things I can say but I would take it with a grain of salt at this point.

The last thing to hit the news about this movie was that the movie was headed back to Paramount. Since then there has been no word that anything has changed or any other progress was made. Judging by what I have learned, if the film has no production company and no producer, then the movie has to be pretty much stalled. Without a production company, Ovitz, Clancy and Guillemont can't do anything. I mean, where would the money to make the film come from? And without a producer, there is no one to approve a script, cast any actors etc.

Also, I wouldn't believe that so-called "script" from LatinoReview.com. You really need to look at the credibility of the source you get your info from. What legitimate credibility can that website have when they are claiming to have a script from a movie without a producer or production company? I atleast try VERY hard to confirm info before I post it, and TFS is just a fan site. Since the old producer and writers walked away, (and it was announced that the old script was being thrown out)Latino Review still hasn't retracted that article to the best of my knowledge. But even a fan who doesn't keep up very much knows there is no producer, so how can there be a script?

Ok, off my soap box now. Sorry if I'm raving, but people spreading misinformation like that gets on my nerves. I can't stand it. I nearly exploded when I saw on the official Ubi forums where some 11 year old n00b was trying to convince people that Raymond Benson and David Michaels were two different people. (That's why I decided to go into Electronic Media rather than PR.)

The last thing I wanted to touch on was to again thank everyone who has visited. We have had over 300,000 hits since May '05 the last time I checked the counter. I have access to a list of all the IP addresses of those who visit this site, so truthfully I know you more by electronic info than by name. But I would love for everyone, but especially the female fans, to get more involved in the forums, as well as comments on the news page and here on the blog. At this point, we have a great group of "regs" here. Derwen, Liz and AJ for example are all a very important part of the going-ons here at TFS and I would love to expand the TFS family here.

And guys, please don't think you are excluded. You are more than welcome to post at the TFS forum anytime you want. I even set aside a male only forum (moderated by Spyman) so you guys can talk about ...well...guys stuff I guess.

Well thats all for now. If you have any questions or just want to chat SC, please feel free to email me. Thanks to a wireless laptop, and wireless signals at home, work and school, I am online pretty much all the time. Im always available. =-)
